Black wolf. They are pretty much armored torpedoes with teeth and a temper unmatched anywhere in nature except for a bald faced hornet.

You rate them higher than amara?

Are gars classified as brackish fish?? I was speaking in general terms even though i've heard there are population that can live in salty marshes. Heck, gars can live in the worst environments.
All Atractosteus genus have observed in full pure saltwater and few spotted & longnose gars have caught in brackish waters and pure seawater too.

Easily beluga sturgeon
Almost twice as large as an arapaima
Very powerful
Bony scutes
huge mouth, don't even need teeth.

'Nuff said

You mean kaluga sturgeon

nearly the same size
same armor and strengh
mouth full of nail like teeth
most importantly:

it is a predator, it main food source is salmon that can get 50+ pounds and it has a powerful bite to match its diet, also more confrontational then most sturgeon

Aimara is second to none in the wolfish family. I think a wolffish is pound for pound more powerful than than an african tigerfish.

i dunno about this. gatf have speed and a 5 lb gatf is a serious fish while a 5 lb aimara is just a baby still. and if you are going by max size the gatf is much bigger. i dont think a wolf could have a chance at even catching a tiger unless the tiger swam right infront of it at night either. also look at the waters they swim in. wolves prefer the calm waters to stalk their prey in while atf sit in the fastest moving waters where fish enter and cant escape from. even that is a serious accomplishment. also just looking at the jaw structure a gatf could take a serious chunk out of anything it bites no matter what the scales are like once it is large enough.

I too think an aimara will own a gatf. Aimaras come from fast flowing waters too. I think a big blk rhom will also do some serious damage to any fish that crosses its path (has greatest bite force, scientifically proven). Will also be a nice showdown against an aimara too. Arapaima will be the winner, due to size, and armor. JMO.

i do think arapaima will be the winner. but i dunno about the aimara. maybe one day they will have a deadliest warrior episode to determine who wins. yes blk rhoms bite is beastly but when u max out in size and can still fit in an aimaras mouth then theres no contest.

An adult blk will not fit in an aimaras mouth. Just saying... and it's temperament alone will probably make that impossible. I would think the aimara would grab it by its stomach and try to shake it and kill it, but wont swallow it. Aimaras are often fished with huge pieces of fin missing from blk rhoms. Look it up.

Yikes! So black piranhas already giving Aimaras a hard time....can't imagine if an Aimara sized black piranha would do to same thing to Aimara....
