Navy yard shooting in DC

Like the last incident,if military personnel were allowed to carry weapons on base this guy might not have harmed so many innocents.

Weren't all the victims civilian employees?

The criminal record checks on people having access to these bases are absurdly negligent. This guy had 2 unrelated incidents for unlawfully discharging weapons.
:-o

this weeks' incident, they were all civilian.

After seeing that you quoted that I mentioned both incidents I asked which one you were referring to because I wasn't sure why you asked that question....So the victims were all civilians,a member of the military,or a civillian, who was on base and nearby could have been in possession of a weapon,if they would have been allowed to carry and the outcome might have been different...

I asked because you stated if military personnel were allowed to carry weapons this might not have happened, and these were not military personnel. So should all personnel on base carry at all times? Should all civilian contractors carry while on base?

I suspected that that's what you were getting at and I think I answered your above question in my last post...but if I didn't,and they continue to disallow anyone to carry on base, then they should maybe look into having more of a MP presence on the grounds.

I don't understand what the point is, of military personnel not being able to carry right on our own ground, stateside. How stupid is that? Why should we have to triple up paying for protection?
What's next, the police won't be able to carry?

when i lived in base housing, we had to turn in personal weapons to the armory. couldnt even keep them in our house

I think the military not being able to carry on U.S. bases might have to with military being constitutionally restrained as to the operations on u.s. soil. Not sure but I recall something from u.s. gov't class close to that. I could be wrong but I'm sure it has to do with legalities of military ops on u.s. soil.
