Please post your water perameters Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, Ph and temperature. Are there any other fish in the tank? Any fish introduced into the tank recently? What med did the vet prescribe? What is the dosage? What did the vet say the issue was? I need all the info you can give before I can try and help you.

Pleaes post the paramter of the tank water. Ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate.

temperature of water is maintained at 25 c. i m not sure of salt content.vet prescribed paracure, stress reducer, energy booster, para plus, xcare, bacimin. he also prescribed a liquid to put in his fins.

there is no other fish in his tank. im not sure of the dosage. vet said it might be infected with hole-in-the-head disease and abdominal infection.yet i suspect it might be dropsy.

Your location is India so I am not familiar with meds that are available to you. I, unfortunatly am not familiar with any of the meds the vet perscribed either. What I can tell you is to get a test kit so you can acuratly determine the parameters of your water. A full grown FH will require a larger than what you presently have. Make sure you keep your water as clean as possibile. Large frequent water changes along with vacuming of the sustrate. Regular filter mainteance is also very important. Your water perameters should be: Ammonia 0; Nitrites 0; Nitrates below 20 ppm lower is better. Also feed the fish a good quality pellet as the staple diet and stay away from feeder fish. Sorry but thats all the advice I have for you on this issue.

the flowerhorns in a 2 foot tank. I think that's the problem.

The OP never stated the size of the fish. My statement was a full grown FH will require a larger tank, however if the FH is 6" the tank size isn't the issue at this point. I try to gather as much information as possibile and reserve judgment untill I have some facts to base my opinion on. Since I am unable to give the OP specific instructions as to how best to treat his fish I gave him some basic information to help him improve the conditions in which he is keeping it. I realize I'm being a little short with you but when people come into this section looking for help they deserve the best help we can give them based on the information available not one sentance off handed remarks to embaress them and make them not want to come forward with a problem.

My advice to you is to watch, listen and learn form some of the experianced members on this site. You'll be surprized at the information you pick up.
