AGGRESSIVE CICHLID TANK WITH NO AGGRESSION

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The Zonatus is awesome as is the Trimac. I would love to find either up here. My experiences with Carpentis have been frustrating, pure evil and waspish (my wife hated them because ours were such s#&%heads haha). The pool filter sand is great. Much cleaner than play sand and way easier to wash. As for sump vs canister it's whatever you're comfortable with. I personally don't like swapping and cleaning socks all the time. Seems funny I am talking to someone on the other side of the planet about the same silly fish I keep. Cheers, time for a Merlot.

Hi,

Yeah i have clouding in my tank still from the pool filter sand!! i cannot get it to stop clouding up the tank! (thats what the white look to the tank water is!!!)

Your right though my carpentis is a real b1tch!! she is really small and she has an attitude that would fit a fish twice the size!!

OMG, the nitrate levels must be through the roof:WHOA:

Just as a point of interest for you, I have just done a water parameter test, my last water change was 7 days ago to the day.

I removed the terracotta, but I replaced it with a second eheim 2262, and filled it with 11l of marine pure, which is also capable of denitrification.

My readings are:

Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 0-5ppm

So you are wrong, there are materials that denitrify, marine pure works in exactly the same way my friend tells me terracotta works.

Is provided a slow moving oxygen free environment for denitrification to occur.

With about 30 big, messy fish in my tank you cannot tell me that something is not consuming nitrates....7days and less than 5ppm....Explain that

I want to try that marine pure stuff. Can't seem to find it though.

How about a video update of you feeding the fish, I really wanna see one!

Yeah I can do that! Just water changing and the gas ran out on my lpg so the water going in is cold and the fish ain't happy.

Once it's heated again and tank settled I'll get a video

I would love to see a video as well. Maybe I will take back what I said about the Oscar then.

Yeah no worries, to be honest as I said above, the lpg ran out half way through a water change, the current tank temp is 19°c.....from 27°c, they are all crying at the moment!
