ahh well so far I've found that studying subjects you like make school a lot more enjoyable

Very true. I'll admit that I find the general education crap unbelievably boring. It has been painful. I really look forward to doing the fun stuff, particularly lab work. I'm not looking forward to the calculus though. lol

You certainly should take it as a compliment! You seem far more clued up than the average teenager (hell most 20-somethings too!).

And if you've got the option, take the travel. I really wish I'd got out and explored a bit more when I was younger. I'm still able to do it now but it's far more costly and difficult when you've got a mortgage, dogs [no kids yet, phew!], tanks etc to take care of. Enjoy being young and free while you can, don't give up on the hobby (of course) but if I could do it again I'd certainly pick travel/adventure over big tanks in my youth.

Thanks :)

That's actually a point no one has brought up. Thanks for that. I think I'll use the time that I'm saving up to also take deep consideration.

The opportunity to travel ties in well with your schooling, too. You can really build up a sound curriculum vitae if you apply yourself correctly during this time when you're free.

Yh, my cv is looking decent right now so I'm hoping over the next 3 years I can triple what I already have.

Well clearly this good karma stuff does exist as a customer from my workplace is moving country and so is giving me a Fluval Vichenza 260 (claimed to be 260litres but with measurements of 121x46x64, plus a bow front, it works out to be 354litres) (77g)
This set up has 3 large clowns with loads of Malawis.
It comes equipped with a fluval external filter ( not sure which yet) heaters, lights and coral sand, coral rock.
I'll be picking it up on October 6th so the moment I have it, ill start a new thread :D

That you wouldn't build the tank. Obviously it's not your fault that you don't have the money but it was obvious that for some reason or the other you wouldn't do it. :(

Right.. It was obvious based on what fact?
I had started to build the stand, the lamination on the floor had been pulled up so the tank stand wouldn't damage the wooden floor.
It was only when I got to the glass stage that this issue hit hard and so obviously I had to scrap the plans. The tank build was ALREADY underway lol.. The trickle filters (DIY style haha) had been been drilled... i get what your saying but i just
thought you'd wanna know :D

Your project has gone the way of about 80% of the projects that are started on this site. Until someone actually has water in a custom tank, members tend to be skeptical. Your admitted young age was also a strong determining factor in why we felt you'd likely just get a finished tank.

TBH, I expected it as well.
