Update and unfortunate turn of events

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Your project has gone the way of about 80% of the projects that are started on this site. Until someone actually has water in a custom tank, members tend to be skeptical. Your admitted young age was also a strong determining factor in why we felt you'd likely just get a finished tank.

TBH, I expected it as well.

ok fair enough. not much to say to that if I'm honest :/ Point is, All my stock that needed a large tank has gone. I'm definitely not someone who doesn't do the right thing by the pets. My fish come first to a "nice tank" so I guess i covered
my bases.
Now, the situation seems to be on the way up in comparison to what it was over the last year. Maybe soon I'll have a "look at my tank thread" so you guys can see I'm serious about my fish :D

btw, looking at this post, I don't want it to come angry or harsh. it's just a normal, neutral statement.

I read your post for what it is. I didn't take it as angry or harsh.

I don't think anyone doubts that you're serious about your fish. I certainly don't. You seem to possess a level of maturity unusual for your age and you're focusing on actually doing what's best for them. I think your fish are probably in fairly good hands.

As for your project, you don't need to stop it. You can always continue to work on it as materials become available. No need to scrap it at this point. You could also modify it to try to go bigger than what you originally planned. Work on it through college and have a big tank ready to go when you graduate, get a good job and can get your own place. You seem like the type who is able to plan long term, and in the long run this could save you a lot of money.

Yeah, it's in storage. I was going to
De-assemble it but couldn't do it as I put too much effort into getting it there. Thanks for the compliment, it does mean a lot. I do see where everybody is coming from with the skepticism but I will get this project done, just over a longer period of time than originally anticipated.
That being said, I got my results on a few of my assignments and have come out with Distinction* which is the highest grade possible :D
I'm really psyched :D

dude, u have all the time in the world for large tanks.they are gonna still be around after graduation. enjoy ur current tanks and life while it all lasts, soon u could be dealing with wife and kids and all that, then ur not gonna have that much time to visit family, or as much free time. make sure to monster upgrade ur dream tanks just before that, but not early. that's the key to success, perfect timing

Yeah I know mate, when I do build this tank, I'll only do it when I'm 100% happy with it
