Two year old mauled to death by five pitbull mixes

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've never had a pit act aggressive towards me, now poodles, chihuahuas, and dachshunds one the other hand...I've been bitten by a number of different dachshunds in my life. They just don't get the same reputation because they can't do the type of damage a pit/rott/doberman can.

I'm not even going to turn this into a oh pitbulls are to blame because anyone with a brain knows any dog when not trained to the basic is dangerous no matter the breed. I'll just give my respects..

RIP

I work at a kennel and not once have I had a problem with them. I've been bit a few times by cats and various dog breeds but never by a pit bull

Poor, poor baby...

But here we go again. One more steps in the cruzade against dogs.
yay miguel's back! and i agree i've seen pitbull live with kids without a problem but the pitbulls were well trained and cared for......

Sadly this happened no more then 30 minutes from my home.

The story in the link says that the boy climbed out a windown and into the area where the dogs were being "kept". Very sad story none the less sounds like another case of Pits getting a bad name because their owners didn't socialize them correctly. I own both a Pit and a Cane Corso Mastiff and would have no issue with letting my future children play with them.
i agree if a dog is well socialized it should not have a problem with kids or people i for one would say that i would keep a close eye on a child that is playing with dogs no matter what breed just to be safe, its a sad story but i dont think the dogs should take all the heat....

I saw this on LA News the day after it happened & they said the dogs had been euthanized.

Neighbors had complained of noise before, so any dog sounds were probably ignored.
If powerful dogs went at a 2yr old's neck, he couldn't cry out. and possibly not even at anywhere on his upper body.

So sad. RIP little guy.

This **** is bond to happened when some idiot decide he should keep a pack of pit bull and not take the necessary precaution to prevent tragedy like this.

At 2 years old, a pack of anything could harm him. I've been knocked down by my Boston terrier jumping 30 pound dog Max.

No, I'm talking in general when someone own a pack of pit bull and is negligence. I still remember that one jogger in California that was killed by 6 pit bull because the owner didn't secure them plus he's a pot grower... But in general if you have animals and small children you should always be careful not to leave the child unattended.

This true but then again you don't where he was first bitten at or the manner of the bite.
