How to pair up a hybrid couple?

Hello every one. I'm in begining of a my red texas project. For now I have male Carpintis around 5" and female red/white citrinellum about 5". How can make them spawn ?
I'll leave them alone in 55g tank and place some big round rocks for spawning substrate. Anything else that need to be made? I'll be happy to read about your pairing experiance with different species.

youre going to need to grow your carpinti a lil bigger than her. She'll whoop him because her breed is stronger and meaner and gonna need the carpinti to be strong enough.

When he;s strong enough to take her on he can flirt and flare to win her over with out getting hurt . If he's not ready, you should divide them in the same tank till he is up to size.

yeah.. and I stated the reason.

U will need some time with this project because of size and compatability issue.. It is possible though.

I do have a Carpinti and a fader fh female together now too. The Carpinti likes the female fh and rying to seduce her. She don't care for him roght now

Animal Guy pretty much told you all there is to do. Amphs are very aggressive and need to be put in their place. What you are witnessing is very common and is why these projects aren't easy. You pretty much have 2 options... Either put a divider in between them so they can get more used to each other or you will have to get a bigger texas than the one you have and hopefully she will accept it. Good luck
