Bingo. Screw the log to some 2x4's, screw the 2x4s into the side equals suspended log. I think this will work.

Are you a member of Turtle Forum? Lots of people there use stock tanks and you can get some great basking area ideas from them

Almost identical to my basking dock for my false map turtle egg crate suspended on pvc with slate in top. How did you attach your slate? I drilled mine in the corners and zip tied it.

Oh yea, the egg crate and pvc works great for a basking dock! We used it in a tank for a rescued RES. Just make sure they can't climb out of the side...we've had some escape artists lol
