I think the problem with fans and the scoring system is this. there is nothing in the scoring system that states that how someone looks during or after a fight should determine the winner. only in pride (not sure about other over seas organizations) they scored the fight as a whole and not on a round by round 10 point system
the way pride judged the fights, yes, Hendricks would be the clear winner. over all he did more damage and had gsp in trouble. but in the 10 point system, how much damage someone takes or how much they bleed or get bruised in one round makes no difference in the scoring of the next round or the fight as a whole. you can get busted up in one round, lose the round and still out point someone to a decisive victory but still physically look like you were on the losing end of an ass whoopin
each round must be judged and scored independently from the rest. if you want to argue who won, then break down each round as to why one fighter outscored the other fighter. I saw a clear win for gsp in rounds 3 and 5 and a clear win for Hendricks in 2 and 4. round 1 was the close one. I also remember round 2 that after gsp got hurt, he recovered and was outstriking Hendricks for the rest of the round so you can even make an argument there as well.
I'm gonna rewatch the fight and score it round by round when I can. but initially after the fight was over, I thought gsp edged it
