Quality Cheap Cars

You can rent cars for next to nothing if you look around. Buying a car requires registration, tagging, license, emissions, etc. in most states.

The numbers just won't work out for 3-4 weeks...

I have to agree...there's a chance you could get a special discount for long term rental. Buy insurance through the rental car, just in case.

yea I was thinking if you're gonna buy a car, wouldn't it be cheaper to rent long term? or cost the same?

but if you do buy used, i'd say don't by a civic. Honda's have more problems compared to Toyotas, at least in my experience. (the recalls and defects are only from newer Toyotas if i'm not mistaken) i'd go with a corolla instead of a civic. but I guess if you're planning to sell it anyways in a short time frame it might not matter

1990-1993 accord...awesome cars, fun to drive, cheap to buy, and cheap on gas. One of the best honda ever made...

I agree on those years but he wants nothing pre 2000. an ex of mine back then had a 91 accord and dang did we put some miles on that thing. she lived in fresno and I live in socal

if ts chooses to buy, then i'd go with Honda or Toyota as the resale values are good

IMHO, newer cars sucks...so much electrical junk to go wrong on them, especially if you own a European car like I do. I'd take my 15 year old jeep any day of the week.

Bronco! If your doing an american road trip a bronco is a must, sort of a guzzler but reliable if you can find a good one, cheap and you can take off the top and turn it into a sort of convertable. You could sleep in it too, pretty spacious

Heck you might as well look for a grand marquis, lincoln town car, etc.. they get pretty good gas mileage and they are huge and comfortable... they nearly have a couch in the front seat... but they are grandpa cars haha

I vote accord or crv. If your traveling civics are a bit limited for luggage space. But honda for sure!

Look into renting, should only cost you $500-$600 to rent for a month. Plus don't have to worry about all the issues that would come along with buying a used car.

Watch out on the later 90's ones though, transmissions are TERRIBLE
