So the American Music Awards just created a new award called the "Icon" Award. Music Producer Larry Klein explained that the "Icon Award was created to honor an artist whose body of work has made a profound influence over pop music on a global level. So in the first year of the award's existence they give the honors to...Wait for it...Rihanna???

calling riri an icon puts her on the level of the beatles, Madonna, the rolling stones, Michael jackson, etc. is she a music icon??

He is a sub par singer who is annoying. And Id debate the drugs are bad, and transform it to drug should be legal but another discussion for another time. For now, Ill just go with Bruno is NOT an icon nor will he ever be.

vicious rumors spread by haters. drug use in the music industry is no more prevalent than say hollywood, professional sports, or the guvment.
drugs are bad, m'kay?

I never said drugs were good or how it got around that these people used. Some openly admit it others are rumors. But it's still common with famous people in general. I guess it's the price of fame

dont get me started! bruno mars is a great singer, doesn't need voice touching at all, natural singer.
Ririririririri has an influence over the younger generation, but she hasn't done enough. I miss the old rihanna

I can think of a few music icons that were known to use drugs regularly... just take Jimmy Hendricks for example...

So yeah, i don't think drugs should effect whether a person could / couldn't become a a music icon...
