Your using the cement floor as your bottom. Then after the foam insulation your going to seal it and waterproof it with what?

Oh, sorry. I am not doing fiberglass or any other waterproofing.

I am doing a pool liner and then on top of that .60 epdm liner. I am putting the pool liner first just in case something were to poke through the epdm, even though I am pretty sure that won't happen, but I'd rather be safe and have a backup just in case.

The pool liner is .30 mil itself. I started cutting it and then stopped. I'll finish flattening it out and making it tight tomorrow.

My wife and I got a yorkie puppy so all of my time has been there. I am now back to my regularly scheduled program!

So....I want the front to be either glass/acrylic with out using a top bracing. I just think it would look so much cleaner with a clear window and no bracing.

What thickness of glass or acrylic would I need to be safe with no bracing? The cut out for the window is 80" x 27".

I am also going to have a drain which will go directly into 2 sump pumps in the cement floor.

with no bracing on the top your going to need some thick acrylic, probably at least 1 inch maybe thicker, I do not have a sure knowledge of how thick it should be, but I would start thinking of 1 1/4 ish inch thick, maybe tempered glass would be a better option.

How awesome! Keep the pics flowing!

I'd go with nothing less than 1.5" maybe even 2", that's what the ATM guys always seem to use. But I don't have enough tank building exp yet so ya better keep looking. I am planning a similar 2300g w/a 4' x 8' window but I would rather frame the window than spring for the extra 1/2" of acrylic (2" in my case, I think). Good luck
