How the Amazon Highway Works.................amazing..

Im guessing this maybe Amazon in the US, since i was just checking out an article on a UK newspaper today online where they sent in an under-cover reporter to see what working in Amazon was like...

she said the workers on the floor at amazon walk an average of 10-15 miles a shift, and get a 30min (unpaid) lunch break and 30min rest time (15min each) which needs to be clocked...

There is a monitoring system that is on your wrist that also helps you calculate the shortest routes you need to take etc...

There was more to the article, but im sure you get the drift... So while it seems in the US they may have a decent system, im not sure how many other amazon sites around the world use the same system?

probably true..not all are created equal...but still amazing technology
 
When you move and handle millions of items monthly you have to have some very effective way at doing it.

So far all my Christmas shopping has been done on Amazon and Ebay. Got to thinking about my Amazon shopping so checked my account. 39 transactions so far this year....everything from cat combs to hibiscus tea to reclining leather sofas. If Amazon doesn't carry it, they usually can still find me the best deals on whatever. Saves me hours of driving time for possibly a dry run, better prices, delivery to my door...haven't been to a mall in ages. Rats, you click on one thing, and at the bottom are ten other items that others have looked at...the shopping possibilities are endless :) :) When my next order arrives on Saturday, I'll remember those robots that made it possible to receive my order so quickly.
