My Clown Knife

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The small one died. I have my 10 incher left.

Yeah, it's correct.
24 jardini
30 clown knife
18 delhezi
12 Senegal
10 even spotted syno cat.

I'll be moving away my syno cat so it doesn't get eaten.

94 gallons needed for 94 inches.
I'm getting 225 gallon tank, that's good enough.

No length of 24 inches x a with of 2.5 x 4 inches tall=240 is about how many gallons for that jardini
Ill do my true red devil 14x2x3 = 84 hes in a 150 by him self

I don't get you, and my tank is 225 gallons, I measured it all. And your length x width x height for fish is not needed. Its not what we on the forum follow. All arowana only need a 13 inch high tank because it is a long fish not a deep one. Fish that get to 24 inches, I give them more than enough space. 72 inches x 30 inches. The fish is 24 inches and I gave it 30 inch wide. And 24 inch high. So a 240 gallon for a Jardini itself is not needed. On nearly all sources, it is stated that a Jardini needs a 180, not 240 gallons. And a red devil needs a 75 gallon tank minimum, I checked on some other red devil threads. Even with a 75, you can keep other fish with it.

People agree with me that a 225 gallon will fit my fish. A 225 is a massive tank.

your ten incher is good to stay with the bichir i think
Thats nice to know. Would my 10 incher grow bigger than my delhezi bichir? I've heard delhezis grow big for most bichirs, I also have a senegal which is now growing slowly at 10-12 inches.

Definitely. Dels are actually one of the smaller bichir species, usually around 12-14", since it's an upper jaw. Your sen is the smallest species of bichir out there. Don't expect it to grow longer than a foot. All lower jaw bichirs are the ones that grow big. Your 10" knife will grow much larger than the del.

Andrik, i just want to ask, these people who "agree" your tank is huge and can fit more fish, would they happen to be store owners in HK?

Coz i can tell you for a FACT, no matter how big or small your tank, and how over-stocked it is, most will say you still have plenty of space if they know you dont know any better...

The amount of times i told people i had a 200G and then have them say you should add "X, Y or Z fish" you still have plenty of space!!! Even though they know i already own one pleco, 1 yellow lab and 1 fahaka is incredible...

So seriously, take the advise of these more experienced keepers, coz they really are just trying to save you time / money / heart ache / fishes lives....

Anyway, any idea when your new tank is arriving?

I just don't see the point in telling him to get a bigger tank. He says he will have one and the tank it's in right now is plenty big enough. He already has the fish so the best thing to do is to help him keep it happy and healthy. It doesn't sound like he's gonna get rid of it anytime soon. That's just my 2 cents.

One not pure red devil why do you think mine is alone in a 150 because he will kill anything that enters his tank not my tank his tank you need to uderstand there is a difference between the fish fitting abd being comfortable 240 would make you jar confirtable the inch per gallon rule the other users are thinking of is just lenght of fish x 1 is how many gallong now there is a similar rule where its lenght of fish x 5 witch is where the fish will fit but probally feel a little couped up just trying to help you out good luck your gonna need it
