My Clown Knife

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I just can't live with too much flaming, maybe you can.

So what kinda advice are you looking for? Your original question was whether your knives would survive with the bichir since the other one got eaten and our answers were the bigger one, probably, the smaller one, it'll probably get eaten by the bichir or harassed to death by the bigger knife.

Math sir, 2 feet is 24 inches. 30 inches, maybe the max size usually. 72 - 30=42. Even if it was max size in the wild 40 inches, it wouldn't be 2 feet space left. 72 - 40=32. I think before you try to give me advice, work out the answer. And the max size would normally be 30 inches so I'll be fine with a 72 by 30 by 24.

Inch per gallon rule length of fish x with x height will get you the amount of gallons that will make the fish comfy

I mean right now, what other requirements do clown knife need in a tank?

So I think I got the math right.

Yeah, it's correct.
24 jardini
30 clown knife
18 delhezi
12 Senegal
10 even spotted syno cat.

I'll be moving away my syno cat so it doesn't get eaten.

94 gallons needed for 94 inches.
I'm getting 225 gallon tank, that's good enough.

The inch per gallon rule is a terrible rule. With good filtration, I don't see how it can't work. And separate the bichir, and 2 clown knife
Edit: In a 225 I mean, and also, your jaridini will murder the rest when it gets past 10 inches

@Andrick you need to get a bigger tank soon. that's that. and pole , your one to talk hows that over stocked 6 gallon?

They feel more safe when given a hiding spot when young. I don't know how big yours are right now but I highly suggest getting rid of the smaller one becuz it will get picked on by the bigger one or eaten by the bichir. Also make sure you're giving them a varied diet. I fed mine earthworms, tilapia, smelt, shrimp and massivore. Keep the water clean with plenty of filtration and wc's and keep the temp in the high 70's to low 80's.

I agree that the inch per gal rule is a horrible myth and just keep in mind that just becuz the average size is around 30" in aquariums, it doesn't mean it won't get bigger. I got rid of mine when it was around 34".
