The long narrated explanation at the beginning turned me against the movie immediately.
that wasn't long at all actually. the quick and informative explanation was all I needed and it was pretty well done to get thru all the crap I didn't care for. it gave the movie plenty of time to spend on the action.
I think the plot as well as characters lacked a lot of depth and originality but I think we all can agree the movie's purpose is to entertain with visual affects.
I agree with the poster that mentioned about Charlie Day. He gets the mvp award in this movie. Aside from Day, all the others lacked much life and ron Pearlman had a small role but his character had more, well, character than everyone else. when did Pearlman become such a stud? I loved him in enemy at the gate. one day i'm gonna start sons of anarchy just to see Pearlman at work. I honestly think the actor playing lead guy (Charlie hunnam) is a main reason why the movie didn't do as well in the states to be honest. couldn't fill the shoes imo.
the visual affects factor carries the movie, other areas that lacked didn't matter. though I do agree it would've been nice to see some fight scenes during the day. it was pretty sick when that one monster spread its wings and flew
this is a good movie to watch to get your eyes and mind all hot and moist, buttered up for Godzilla penetration. got my fingers crossed for a good Godzilla movie
I give this movie a master lee thumbs up for the entertainment
