When people see my tank, I can tell them about all the fish and their traits. Why the fish act how they do, or are the way they are. When i see fish with color morphs I know cost thousands of dollars, I dont see a love for aquatic life. I see a pissing contest of who can spend more money. I don't respect that, I think its stupid. I got into this hobby because I love fish, not to spend thousands of dollars on individual fish.

I didn't say anything about you. You certainly put a great deal of time an effort into that tank. It looks amazing. I was talking about that all platinum tank with nothing in the there. All that can be said about his tank is that he spent thousands of dollars.

I guess my point didnt come across correctly. You put countless hours into that to make it look perfect. You definitely have passion for aquariums. What upsets me is just buying expensive fish because they are expensive as some sort of status. I feel like monster fish and huge aquariums are interesting enough.

I've seen some in my area in south florida also have seen albinos along with a 2'+ koi in the lake. Also I only seem to see any gars during the summer months so I figure the hide any other time

Guess that's what you get for spending time on the water instead of playing the lotto

I'll agree with u there, Drives me nuts seeing people who keep fish with no planing or consideration for the fish involved just to show off. It happens with expensive fish but just as often with cheap fish, those "hobbyists" who care nothing for the fish and just want something bigger, meaner or more expensive to show off so they can be a big shot.
