Not at all,my big one is pushing four inches

Mine too. I did some reading and no one really seems to know their max size. Some say around six inches but mine hasnt grown very much in the past few months.

I'm assuming they are pretty slow growers,I just wish that I had gotten more when they were available at this size. The others I have are tiny compared to it.Where did you get yours?

I don't have pictures yet. the technology getting photos to computer is my weak point. but I'm going to try and work that out.
Mine were listed at 2 1/2 inch & it seems fairly close, just by eyeballing.
Markings vary between them.
Absolutely love these guys. I'm having really easy time getting them to eat variety already and I just got them 4 days ago... FD bloodworms, carni sticks in BW gravy, and tonight they spit down cut bits of thawed krill I stuck on glass above water line!
They're definitely hungry boogers and I'm doing my best to beef them up. going to make sure they're bullet proof about foods before offering baby crickets, cuz those appeal so strongly to predatory instincts that it can negate pellet training efforts.

I don't understand why asian producers haven't tried to figure out how to spawn this species in ponds or something.
It's amazing to me how little info is available about them in general.
I had planned to put them in my 180 comm tank eventually, but the feeding action might be too robust for them. not sure.
