...... What other fish will you be keeping with them?
my original idea was for them to fill in the top level of my 180G community with mostly SAs including geos, but now I'm not really sure, for various reasons.
1st, my 180 usually has lots of surface current.
2nd, the archers are heavy eaters now, I want to keep them growing, there is lots of food competition in the big tank and I don't feed so heavy in there ATM.
3rd, it would really be nicest to have the archers in a setup where their shooting skills can be appreciated, including a lowered water level with branches above that.
Somewhat unfortunately, the next tank I have to set up has an overflow and we are getting tight on tank locations.
Right now their qt tank is on my kitchen counter, as I have no stand for it. Lol.
;-)
they are growing at a decent rate. I may try rigging a temporary compromise with the surface current of one end of the 180, just to get them in a big tank quicker.
:-/
Sometimes it's hard making choices with the different fish we want to keep. These guys are certainly deserving of their own environment. I think ideally, with bottom feeders that won't be lured aggressively to the surface. and maybe the right mid-level schoolers.
I've found no info on what other fish they live amongst in their natural habitat.
