Well I tried... (Gymnothorax)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
There is no science stating that fish need to move to salt water at a certain stage in life, if they are eating great and living months like they are in your tank, as long as you don't do something to introduce disease or disrupt their current conditions, they should live long and happy.

At least we do know there is science saying there are strict freshwater population of these guys and the authors had caught eels of all sizes.

Also I will get a thread going of my group soon, so people can see them and how i have kept them.

Sorry for your loss man. I have no experience with these guys, since Wes is already on this, I will only follow along. I was very interested in these guys myself. Good luck E.

Do you know where the writing is found? All the information that I have is all just passed down information. Of course, we now have at least 3 groups in pure fresh in captivity. I have kept 2 from 2 year ago and are going strong.

I will get it to you

Interesting thread.. only thing I have to add is w/ DB.. I keep aragonite sand in my sumps in a bag to help buffer our water.

ROUND 2

Float bag for 15min..... Check

Slow drip for 1-1.5hrs..... In the process (25 min in or so)

Mr.moray is non stop active, even before I started dripping. I'll keep everyone updated, wish us luck (me and the eel lol).

Water is dripping in over the air stone. This little container gave me an idea if i (or you) ever needed an emergency quarantine tank, just Slap a high level drain on this portable bad boy. Instant 24/7 drip due to my existing 24/7 setup :)

I really appreciate this Wes, Thank you buddy.

Can't wait to see if all it took was just a bit of crushed coral to keep these guys happy in fresh... since that is one theory i've read about keeping brackish water eels in freshwater...
