This jag is an older female which I got around four years ago. She was fertile when I got her but now I doubt it so there's only a small chance of them breeding. This jag is a monster tho. Shes around 20ish inches and WAS a killer, killed a two foot long silver back in the day. She is kept by herself and now days shes not really even interested in feeders for the past year or two. My current fh is a male around 5-6 inches and I'm pretty sure he can handle himself. They would be going into a 100 gal 60x18x24.

I do have a divider for the tank just in case one starts to bully the other, but does anyone have experience with them? I think that it can work as the jag is just calm due to age. I pet her from time to time and she never tries to take a bite of me. If anyone has done this or has ideas on how to get them to live together would be appreciated.

Some of the questions are
-Should I even be thinking about this?
-Should I put them in the tank at the same time so there both new and not territorial?
-Or should I put them in the tank with a divider for a couple weeks and then let them mingle?

Thanks

I don't know I think you might be asking for a headache, just try it but have divider handy.
I would be worried about FH, but jag might not see as threat. Pretty small tank btw.

The jags currently in a 75 with PLENTY of room. It seems like I can have another jag of that size in the 75gal and they would be perfectly fine and have enough room. So I think the jag and a fh shouldnt be a problem in a 100 gal?

They will fight. Had both in my 600 the jags hid in the rocks almost all the time and the flowerhorns stayed out.

Well than seeing as there is "plenty of room" put them in I'm sure a 20 inch fish will love to share the space.....

Did you read my post? I stated that its around 20ish inches, probably more like 16-20, never really measured, but disregarding that did i mention the age of the fish and how shes calmed down? She doesnt even accept or chase around feeders so why would she allow a feeder to share her space?

And I said the jags current home the 75 has plenty of room and I'll be putting them into a 100 gal so why are you saying i'll be putting them in a 75 which you state i say has "plenty of room" for both of them? Your sarcasm isnt welcome here, I'm asking for advise and you're just giving sarcastic little comments, move on if your going to be a sarcastic twat.

If you really want to try this, I would use the divider method or be around with the divider just in case. It seems like the safest method. Granted I never seen a flowerhorn in a tank with just one other fish, unless they were a pair. Whatever you decide, share pics please and good luck.
