What kind of fish are you looking for? I just found out about this place Maximum Reefs in Yonkers. They have an excellent selection and great prices. I am pretty sure they are saltwater only. Fishtown USA is also a great place. They are in Flushing Queens or around there.

I never heard of this place but I just checked out their Facebook page and they do have some awesome fish.

I'm almost tempted to take a day trip up there for a visit but gas and tolls lean me against it..

Monster Aquarium.... But come over the bridge.. Aquascape, Rt 4, Shark Aquarium, and many more.....

In Manhattan proper, Pacific Aquarium and 123 Aquarium in chinatown. Unfortunately not too many options in the city itself.

Yes been there its pretty cool. From the city you would have to cross the tappan zee bridge. It's off the palisades pkwy somewhere
