I agree with Inglorious as well

That being said the only times (twice now) that I've gone to a baby shower (that weren't for my own kids) was to be the excuse as to why my wife had to leave early .... she's not big on them herself (lucky me). Other than that ... she'd never ask.
 
Our tradition is that the father only has to go to his own kids shower.

Other then that its a big joke around here when my wife says "you gonna come to so and so's shower with me?" Lol Because of all the talk about co ed showers and diaper parties she knows i would never go and she prob wouldnt even let me

Weird. Not sure what the big deal is. We attend all our families baby showers. The guys go hiking, biking, or bar hopping in the morning. BBQ and eat at the shower. We're Filipino so family is close. Food, booze, and such. Win. My 2cents.

I wouldn't do it - once your man-card is revoked it is pretty difficult to get it reinstated.

My wife had a baby-shower at our house a long time ago for a friend, and I was exposed to a bit of it before I left for the neighbor's. They played some game trying to guess how many squares of toilet paper it would take to go around the girl's belly. That 15 minutes was enough baby-showering to last me a lifetime.

I can understand this. instead of it being a baby shower disguised as a party, sounds like you guys are having a party disguised as a baby shower. maybe culture difference has a little to do with it too.

But thats not even a baby shower. If you dont attend a single event can you really claim you went? Its like women saying i love football! All the guys get together and watch it while all the women go shopping!

Thats kinda how i viewed the aberration that was posted about hiking and bbq
