I have this new 17.5" lap that originated from a craigslist find a year ago, and bounced around from tank to tank. Now i have for the past couple months. Judging by the pic. Is it guinean or a nigerian variant? Thanks

Hmmm , might just be the pic's but looks more like congicus

Looks to be a washed out Ansorgii.

It's always been on the lighter side with some black undertones on the upper half of body. Perhaps it may be a CB hybrid. Still an active docile poly which does not bother any of its tankmates.

Guys/Gals, should i provide a close up shot of the head shape from its side for a better ID? I'm curious to find out the dominant specie.

+1 Very washed out ansorgii, ive never seen that much striation on the mouth of lap or congi

I agree it looks more like an ansorgii or farmie hybrid, but not because of the lip striation.

All of my laps and congis have that lip striation.

It looks like a WC Ansorgii judging from it's headshape but I can't be sure if it's WC or the hybrid AnsorgiixEndli. Need to see pattern on it.

Nice thick fish, looks like an older fish with the blunted face. Some good suggestions here
