Hybrid egg laying female question...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I understand but unless you watched her pretty constant she may have taken a brake long enough when it was dark or calm because you were not around and the eggs suffocated with no oxygen being fanned on them. For piece of mind just see if you can get them to spawn in a flat rock or dish then move them to artificially hatch them.

+1 My con never left the eggs tell they hatched. Only eat when food floated to her. She stayed about a quarter inch above and never stoped fanning then.

Well as far as the first female I made this thread about... I'm done with her for now because she doesn't have a mate. But as far as the second pair that I talked about, I will let try again and she should spawn real soon. I am real observant when I have a spawn so for the first spawn I made sure I watched her daily. She was a good mom for the eggs all the way til the 4 day when all the eggs were white. Both of these females have been good parents fanning their eggs and guarding them with their lives like any other pure breed. I will remove the eggs from this next spawn and get some footage vs pics to show you all how it has been going down. With this next spawn I hope for a positive outcome... But I don't expect it.

Great pics love this female. Hoping for the best. Just keep at it because if it was so easy everyone into these fish would be making their own instead of buying others work.

Lol aint that the truth. Thanks for the encouragement. I tried uploading pics of their first spawn but they wouldn't attach, but so far she's 0 for 1, so we'll see what happens on round 2.

Well sorry for the failed spawn but your situation is not like this one... Sounds more like the situation from my other thread that I posted on here earlier. My pair went through the spawning motions together and nothing became of the fry... That's what this thread is for. You will have to try again but first make sure your female accepts him... Good luck man.
