Wapiti Elk vs. Photographer.......... very tense

I wonder if it was the rut season. i'm thinking he wouldn't have gotten away that easily if the elk was full of testosterone aside from the fact that it was a very young bull

seemed like it was more scared of him than he was of it

I would never be in that position. an awesome photo is just not worth it. I'd be fine telling the grandkids that I was mere feet away from a wild elk in the safety of my vehicle. it's safer to be a paparazzi. at least if a celeb attacks you, you can get some money out of the ordeal. with an elk all you get is some puncture wounds and some bludgeoning

good point..........not me either.......lol

Antlers present with little or no velvet remaining on the antlers, yes it was rut season. The photographer was stupid and so were the onlookers, watching without driving up honking. People with no woods sense amaze me sometimes.

That said, I might, might have watched too, up until that point where the elk moved into the grass and started to get more aggressive. That elk could have easily KILLED Dimbo before anyone could have come to his aid.
