Thanks man

Thanks

I can't wait to put him in something alot bigger than a 220 to really see his potential.

Technically he didn't sell them...although I made an offer that couldn't be refused. Besides I didn't have the space for them when he picked them up from Adam or I would have snagged them from him in the first place. I do have a question for you though was the General wild caught?

Drew

I bugged Adam to sell also n he wasn't ready , them a month later he sells to Terrell:/ really bummed me out bro. Been trying to get that pair back for couple years.. Yes the general was wild

Sorry to derail, but since there are a lot of Umbee keepers looking at this I thought I'd ask. Is it possible to keep umbees or a single male Umbee with other fish in a large tank? 300 - 400 gallons with a common pleco and a couple peacock bass, or would it have tho be a species only tank?

Amazing pair, those are Rio Mags right?

n if they are small. But adult will own that tank and no tank mates for adult size in 3-400. they lived in a swimming pool or bigger, they got enough space for a lot of friends with out being pist off

Yes I believe that the father was a Rio Mag but I'm not sure. In a recent conversation with Jeff Rapps as I was looking into rays he shared with me that he keeps a male umbee along with a male ray in a 6' tank. Neither bothers each other. Not sure I'm brave enough to try it but interesting to consider.

Trace has his 20" Rio Mag in with alot of tankmates but the tank is 1400 gallons. Not sure if I will be able to accommodate a tank like that in the distant future even. Personally I would give it a try with a juvenile mag and a 8ft tank I've kept my gorillus Blacks successfully with tankmates for a long time now. They were all in a 220 there was a breeding pair of jags 9" , a breeding pair of adult losellie 9" and 6" a male Amarillo 9" dovii grow outs and a Red Tiger male. There was some chasing but all in all my vieja community tank was alot more aggressive.

Like FH + bichirs friends. I had those and the FH lands/lays on top of the bicher and the bicher doesnt even care to move.. Never a bite from the fh.

Depend on individuals..

But if you have enough space, these cichlids woundnt be so bad. U must know how to set up tank mates by speed, size, aggression level if they choose not to get along.

If you have an adoult Umbee in a 3-400g and U wanna put another male Umbee or Dovii his size to call tank mate them you will have disaster

these two always at peace .. But the FH will destroy other tank mates if he gets his chance, but there arent any tank mates he can catch because I only have the faster ones that can take care of themselves in there with out stress..

U can have tank mates, but you gotta set up the right fish
