I keep finding pretty different tank temp suggestions for these fish.
One source gives 77-97F. Another says set it at 75F

I have it at 87F -Just wondering where other keepers of these fish set their tank temps. tx

side note:
This is what my female looked like yesterday after the male jumped over the divider and mauled her during the night.
She looks much better today. The female's colors dont seem to change as dramatically as the male's/

I've always maintained mine in between 75-80 closer to the 75 because I've found higher the temp more aggressive they'll act.

Most of the natural waters they are found in average in the mid seventies F.
Beside increasing aggression, anything 82'F and up can promote the virulent strain of the bacteria that causes duck lips.

I run my jag tank at 82, I would expect to see more pronounced banding and belly spotting on a female jag, and a more pronounced for head slope. nice looking either way.

here both of my females.

That's not a loisellei, it's a female jag

This female looks a lot like a cross between a jag and Freddy.uploadfromtaptalk1395507744505.jpg
My female jag doesn't look anything like your female and that makes me wonder about your female.uploadfromtaptalk1395507907416.jpguploadfromtaptalk1395507919206.jpg
What ever your female is I like her :)
