this kind of stuff is why i hate hybrids, folks go to the chain store and buy whats marked as a JD, or a Convict or what ever, as it gets older they notice that this really does not look like a JD, or they post on there fav fish forum there pretty JD or convict or jag, and find out its not a pure fish, its a mutt. maybe a good looking mutt, but a mutt just the same. hybrids are fine but keep them at home.

Most of the natural waters they are found in average in the mid seventies F.
Beside increasing aggression, anything 82'F and up can promote the virulent strain of the bacteria that causes duck lips.

tx for that ! I'll lower it down a bit.

thats a loiselli mate, could be male too?

I got her (definitely a her bc they've spawned twice) from a very knowledgeable importer,
I'd be surprised if he sent the wrong species but it's possible, I guess. If they look very similar.

I'll let you know what he says about it. tx for the input.. that's why I love this place.

They look similar, but he has a female jag trust me. It's not a loisellei.

She is definitely a female jag trust me! I have owned many jags for a long time. Loiselleis have blue in the fins and the head.

ok we will agree to disagree, im sure if the op ran an id thread there would be an overwhelming majority saying hybrid or loisellei. That said its highly unlikely jeff would get it wrong...
is it f0/wild caught and have you had it from very small as it could easily have got mixed up then? i have also kept many jags over the years and have never seen one with that body shape and colouring.
