She measured 38.7 cm in September 2013.

The female was obtained May 3 1999 at 18cm and was measured in 2013 at 38.7cm She is still alive.
The male was obtained May 3 1999 at 23 cm and died December 29,2008 at 43.8cm
I owned another male obtained January 4 1987 and that one died in 1998. bought at 10.4 cm and died at 43.7cm

I've seen a 16 inch male butti at my LFS once back in Denver. There is one guy on youtube with a 18 inch butti from what I remember.

yes, I would think a big jag could hold his own with a sub adult butti,pretty easily ...when the butti hits about 12" I would think it's"game on"...with the butti having every chance to be the dominant fish

They are the same size but my f1 male jag has some big old teeth on him Haa I wouldn't wanna mess with him lol.

Well considering a truly full grown individual of both specie has the potential to reach close to 2 feet I'd say butti if only because they are built like tanks have nasty teeth, although wild caught Jags have unbelievable fangs

+1 ON PROBABLY THE BUTTI, but it all depends (we all know) on the specific fish....wouldn't want to see it ,some fish is gonna get "boat raced"
