I have always wanted an ocsar because of they're cool pet like qualities. Is there any fish that compares to them at all they would do ok in 55g (or 45g or 29g maybe - I have one of each empty). I guess the only One I've ever had that was like that was a green sunfish when I was a teenager. That thing got really tame, and would jump out of the water to grab food from my fingers. Favorite smaller wet pets?

An oscar would work in a 55 but unfortunately 55's only are a foot wide... I would recommend a blood parrot for sure. They are interactive like red devils (hybrid) but can not cause much harm because of deformed mouths. My parrot glass bangs and hand feeds.

Oscar wouldn't work in a 55 for life. Average 55 is a foot wide and Oscars can easily hit 13 inches within 2 years

I loved my green terror for a medium sized "wet pet" gorgeous color and great personality without too mean aggression

How about another green sunfish? I'm hopefully setting up a 30 long for one within the next week or two. I'd say a 3' long tank is the bare minimum for a single specimen but you also said you want a wet pet so that's perfect!

Another smaller growing fish would convict or other cryptos.sajica, HRP

I know some the smaller growing ciclids, I guess I am looking for personal exsperience of which fish tend to be most personable and owner responsive. Several said green terrors, are these like that?

Ypu could also try electric blue jack dempseys
