Wow amazing recovery!! Glad that you didn't give up on it..
Btw, if you have plans in the future to remove the excess fat, can you make a video of it?
I'm curious as to how you did it..

I can try. When I do the touch ups, I can try to show you where I cut and what exactly I did. Lol to be honest I only had a general idea of what to do when I got in there, and that's why I had to do it more than once. I suppose less is more when you're cutting away tissue. lol

Oh and on another note I was able to track back the owners of this fish all the way back to the store that it came from. I actually saw this fish in that store when I joined mfk, so it is at least 5 years old!

Nice work, we need more people like you in the hobby! People that understand what responsibility is haha too many people buying rtc and silvers and cramming them into 70/90 gals for life.

Certainly a commendable job; both on ur perseverance & ur courage to undertake the surgery!!!

Standing ovation!!!

Thanks for the kind words and sorry for the delayed update. I moved her into the 230 about a week ago and she is loving the space. The move went extremely smooth. I drained the water really low and got her to swim in the net. I was really worried I was going to spook her and she would start jumping. I used a large rubber fishing net and then put a Rubbermaid lid in between the net and the glass and pulled her out and put her in clove oil mixture for the last time. I cut off the growth on her tail, cut a piece of skin from an injury, and did a little snipping to get the tissue I missed after the second surgery.

The reason I moved her earlier than I wanted was because she was getting really startled with the other aro in the 170. She was repeatedly jumping into the lid an mauled up her barbells and chin quite badly. Everything is all healed up now though and all the scales that were missing when I got her have grown back. She is also getting a really nice pink color in her tail. image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

Eye isn't perfect but it looks a lot better! She is slamming pellets and everything else she can manage to grab, including food off the bottom now too. Lol
