Well,It's the itching that drives me nuts and the blisters don't form until after I get a good sensation from a nice vigorous bout of scratching...so I kind of bring them on...Haha,haven't made it to Africa yet although I have been invited by friends who are from there...one day.
 
slather some cortisone on there & take benadryl. I think there's cortisone spray now, it might sink in faster than cream but being alcohol-based may sting broken skin. is it both your hands or just one?
 
After all these years and as old as I am I still catch heat over my hands...been called bony hands,piano playing fingers..I think Rob said that I have old man hands lol.I'm not even safe on good ol MFK...The blistering is only on one hand.
 
did you only get down in the mess with one hand? If not, you might've been gnawed on by a creepy crawler.

I get this too, once in a while and on a smaller scale. Usually a small patch on my hand or foot.
