Why is my Red Devil hump disapearing????

that is a HE..
 
its pretty easy to sex them via side on venting at 6 inch.
 
Ya, sounds like a male. The good news is at 5" it has plenty of time to grow that nuchal hump back as it matures. I wouldn't get too concerned at this point.
 
Great! Also at what size do they start to peel? I can't wait to see how he looks fullgrown

Fading/peeling can start at any size, or never take place at all. Depends on the genetics of the fish.
 
I noticed black tips on my red devil fins. Is this normal?

My female midevil gets them on occasion and they go away with time.
