WC Holy Grail blanco beani

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Very nice WB!
So what's the scoop on Beani I have never had any and we all know how amazing they look but how do they act?
Attitude, aggression and owner responsiveness?
There is mixed emotions on the more common Beani so do these Differ in any way from the commons?

Welcome back Joe...long time no see! Glad your trip was a success...... we're gonna have to hook up so I can come "see" these in person.... I was going to pay Gani a visit but he came by yesterday instead. Unfortunately you never did bring back those WC Trimacs huh? :(

Hey man!!! So long since I've seen you brother! Amazing odo's you picked up! I want to get some too now. The blanc beani strain is settling into everyone's tanks, amazingly and morphing into that awesome adult Lopaka picked up from Gani after I brought it back from good ol Mexico. Hit me up brother! Will try again on the Trimacs. :)

His (Joe's) beani have had a great reputation on MFK with many well know members to growing info some Beasts! More aggressive than u would imagine (hyper aggressive) so best kept solitary, not jus for protection of other fish, but also for a stress-free environment for the beani.

Stress is the main cause of them "bloating" at any age (compared to haits for example, which usually pass the bloat stage once an adult)

But from what I've heard from many, Joe's wild caught strain has not had (any I've heard of at least) problems wit bloat. Especially that he treats right them right away is a great preventative.
Now thats if you take the proper care. Right temp, diet, tank size, solitary, etc. So can't say they are completely immune to bloat/SBD/parasites all related to some kind of stress lowering there immune system.

All of that info was from my experience of keeping beani and speaking with beani experts. The beani is my favorite strain of all time, nothing beats the honey comb gold colors, especially that one of Lopaka's that turned into a blueish-gold coloration from Joes line.

You won't find a better strain of beani that the ones in this thread. Sure thats IMO, but you'll see many others will agree.

The group I got was getting along just fine for the first 2 weeks until one day 1 of the 2 males was suddenly able established dominance. .. it was pretty much over from there. Relentlessly attacking, chasing, and basically wanting to elimate the others. The sooner the better.

It's still too soon to really gauge there aggression in comparison.. but so far I'd say they're very much up there with the big guys. These guys are surprisingly very outgoing and will eat just about anything I throw in there. Awesome fish and I must have!!!

Out of all the beani I have kept (CC, wetspot, LFS) and even seen,

Joe's selection of beani is among the finest I have seen (2nd) in terms of appearance, potential, health (hearing almost none of his have had problems with bloat, and that be treats them all initially with proper meds), even though of course that can be influence with stress once in another tank, which lowers the immune the system that then puts them at risk to bloat/SBD/hex.
Thats why, as stated earlier, its best to raise solitary, or in a big split tank with a divider to control aggression with another species type.

I highly recommend Joe and his selection of beani. May not be cheap, but you are paying for a beani with huge potential and the genes of a "supposed" hardy beani (as I personally never kept any from him) but I can't tell you how many countless times I have ordered from
many different well known whole sales and raised beani from .5" with large tanks, excellent water:
low protein diet, etc. but little did I realize what really lowers the immune system, is stress (confirmed by well known member RD-Neil)

So even is you get these hardier than normal beani, don't think they are invincible. jus follow the easy steps of avoiding fish stress and you'll hopefully have a nice beani

And jus for $hits and giggles, my favorite beani of all time (Male) would be non other than that of AquaMoJo.
Just a straight- up Pure Golden Honey comb beast
