Out of all the beani I have kept (CC, wetspot, LFS) and even seen,
Joe's selection of beani is among the finest I have seen (2nd) in terms of appearance, potential, health (hearing almost none of his have had problems with bloat, and that be treats them all initially with proper meds), even though of course that can be influence with stress once in another tank, which lowers the immune the system that then puts them at risk to bloat/SBD/hex.
Thats why, as stated earlier, its best to raise solitary, or in a big split tank with a divider to control aggression with another species type.
I highly recommend Joe and his selection of beani. May not be cheap, but you are paying for a beani with huge potential and the genes of a "supposed" hardy beani (as I personally never kept any from him) but I can't tell you how many countless times I have ordered from
many different well known whole sales and raised beani from .5" with large tanks, excellent water:
low protein diet, etc. but little did I realize what really lowers the immune system, is stress (confirmed by well known member RD-Neil)
So even is you get these hardier than normal beani, don't think they are invincible. jus follow the easy steps of avoiding fish stress and you'll hopefully have a nice beani
And jus for $hits and giggles, my favorite beani of all time (Male) would be non other than that of AquaMoJo.
Just a straight- up Pure Golden Honey comb beast
No longer available, thats why I recommended you grab some of Joes while you can

Good luck
All The statements posted, are all IMO. Jus helping represent a good seller and good quality fish, with some advice if wanted to be taken
