All you guys defending this "fish keeper" are going on and on about space, but you're totally overlooking the 0 filtration, 0 heat, 0 water change. Yeah, thank god there's no predators to worry about....woohoo!!!

Still keeping fish in tanks such as 300g , 600g or even 1000g does not provide them with ample space. I have never seen fish grow so big and thrive until I started with really huge tanks.

Yes, yes, yes. We all get that we will never be able to provide for our fish the space afforded by nature, but if you don't think that that paroon would be better off in a 300 than that 33 you are totally demented.......and there's really no point in arguing with the crazies

By the way, what do you guys do to help all these fish being kept in poor conditions, do you home each and every one of them? If not you're going to have to learn to accept it because you don't get to preach and not do anything about it, mainly because you can't help every fish. It's clearly not the same example, but what if someone else says your filtration is not enough, you are being cruel keeping a 14" pbass in a 180, you want a forum full of people blasting you for it?

Well, the threadstarter did his part but the owner doesn't want to hear it so that's that.He showed us a photo of a fish in a bad situation and all anyone can do is accept it and state their opinion on it,there is no preaching going on,either you are bothered by it or you are not and some apparently see no problem with it.
One thing about this forum is that there will always be someone with a bigger tank than you have and someone just might come out and say that your fish need a bigger tank than what you have but none of that, just like so many other things that have been brought up in this thread has nothing to do with this particular fish and the tank that it is in.

I see your point absolutely. Hope I didn't come off via written text that I approve this or am in the not bothered category, i am absolutely disgusted by it. It bothers me on a personal level, but all I wanted to illustrate was that's all it is, personal. I can appreciate others view that it's another fish in an aquarium, so if you look at all the injustice done to fish on a whole and start counting 500 gal setups for minnows as an injustice as well I can see it all coming out in the wash. The vivid image in my mind is going to the Asian super market and seeing all the bowfin and catfish crammed into a tiny tank waiting to die, realistically whose to say if that's better or worse right? One thing I will tell you for sure, I'd be sad for you if you lost a beauty prized fish, but I'd be more sad if i lost mine. Wonder if we'd be as sad if it were a rosy read minnow in a bare 20 gal.

Being that most people regard rosy red minnows only as feeders probably not...BTW kudos to Pharoah for keeping the thread open.Things might have gotten a wee bit heated but I didn't notice anything more than that.

And I say it would be better off in something a lot bigger than a 300g.

Ahh, now I remember why I don't like coming here much any more. Unfortunate really, some members here are actually dedicated to their fish. Consider it done, I am gone.
