Hello all. Recently I caught 6 spotter gars out of a few local lakes near Fort Wayne, IN. Turns out some of the females were holding fertilized eggs. I threw all 6 in my 6 acre pond, along with a huge bowfin and a dozen largemouth bass. The pond already has an established population of bluegill and fathead minnows.

Today I was walking around the pond and found a few of these guys. I've never seen gars this size! I'm hoping they all make it and I'll have a nice gar pond. I will continue to monitor their growth and post pics on here.View attachment 1019207View attachment 1019208View attachment 1019204View attachment 1019205View attachment 1019206

How large were the gars in the last picture? Do you think this is a stable size?

Maybe 2"? They were tiny. Now they're pushing 10".

YA ever think about selling any let me know I'd like one for Garfield my Gar to have a tank mate.

Ya they get big fast I thought I was going to have a while before I moved mine over to the 160 but he was getting way to big for the 55.

He grew 1 1/2 inches in like 4 weeks.

Again nice looking fish there.
