Seems I heard (on the radio)someone admitted they visited West Africa(in Washington DC) and the building got shut down.

Hello; with regard to developing good hand practice, it is an ongoing thing. When I first started there would be times when I caught my hand(s) on my face without meaning to. I was able to be much better about not touching my face after catching a cold for a time. I guess it was many months. I still slip up from time to time but am immediately aware any more. It is hard to practice a behavior that has no immediate negative feedback and only a possible positive result. I like the comment by a nurse in Africa. She kept a rubber band on her wrist and gave it a painful snap when catching herself breaking the rule.

It is not that I never touch my face. I try to wash my hands very soon after coming home from the world. When home I relax. It is also that I live alone and have very few visitors so most surfaces at home are contaminated with me only. I try to wash my hands after touching anything from the world and only to touch my face only after a hand washing.

It might make a comic routine to film me cooking eggs or raw meat. I have noted that I wash my hands up to four times when preparing fish or chicken. I also put a bit of Clorox in the dishwater and wipe down kitchen surfaces commonly touched once or twice a week. I have started to wash all fruit and even melons since some cantaloupes were contaminated a few summers ago.

I especially enjoyed the scene when Mr. Monk was in a sterile, all white, clean room with a look of wonderful contentment on his face. Unlike Mr. Monk I like to mix my peas with mashed potatoes and do not mind if the different foods touch.

one of my grand daughters really loved Monk when she was in elementary school. so one year I ordered her 2 seasons of his episodes on DVD. when I opened the package, it included a pack of "Mr Monk Hand Sanitizer Wipes"
OMGosh it was funny :D
