I figured they would and thats the only reason im hesitant. My fx6 is on my african/asian tank, and 4 bichirs, 8 CLS, 2 bushfish, 2 butterfly fish, and a syno cat make for some messy feeders haha.

Pot scrubbers in a canister is a waste of space. Their surface area is negligible compared to ceramic bio media, thus, you may as well use a sponge filter instead of a canister. You'd be better off than with scrubbers in a canister.

really? I would have thought a scrub would have had way more surface area vs. rings. hmmm. making me rethink things haha
I have a good sized layer of nylon pot scrubbers on top of my ceramic noodles and below a foam pad later in my 2260. . No complaints easy to maintain . Note i also have a 120 gal sump running on same tank and there about 60 pot scrubbers, 20 lbs of mixed bio media along with 2 filter socks and 6 hydro V sponge filters .

Ya I know they work best in a wet/dry sump setting for sure! That sounds like a beast of a setup haha.

Thanks! I looked (obviously not hard enough) for a thread like that because i figured this had to have come up before. How do you feel about lava rock then harley? I'm with you on the glass media being the best, but theres NOOOO way I'm filling a can with it hahaha.
