475 gallon (Asain aro , 10 x severums , flagtail ,10 x denison barbs)

Thats crazy dimensions for a tank wooow..If i have the space inside my house i would rather do a huge tank than a pond in my garage honestly

Im also having second thoughts about putting the 30 denison barbs with the aro even though it will look super cool...Even the severums im having second thought about which sucks....Basically im going to have a 475 gallon tank with the aro alone for a few weeks till i decide or get some ideas from the forum...Can an aro go 1 week without eating and have no problems cause i know they starve themsleves when transitioning from live food to pellets..

i'd advise putting other community fish in first before the asian arowana whether it be RTG, gold or red because once they settle into the tank it will be harder to introduce tankmates as they will be quite aggressive. I found it better the other way around to introduce arowana later on for a community build out. just my 2 cents.

Put in a ornate bichir ( completely thinking of changing my stocking - arowana)....Still thinking of what to put but i put in 10 bio balls and 2 sponges from my old tank and automatically cycled didn't think that a tank that big would cycle that fast lol...Thought i had a couple weeks to think of a new stocking..And yeah keeping the aro till the end is best

People always try to stick a tank even before its set up

In reality you need to add fish as you go and see what works and what doesn't as each fish is different and what works for some may not work for others

You can't just throw a mixed comm tanks together over night and hope it works

It has taken me years to get my tank right I have had tigers/dats that hated aro and others that have been fine

My advice is put loads of different types of fish in with the aro from a young age as it will make it except a wider selection later on
The bad thing is the aro you are getting is already 11" so the damage may have been done and it may not except as many fish as it may have done if it was mixed well from 6"

I was planning to throw a bunch of fish in the tank...I meant that i though i had two weeks to set up a list of the stock that i want so i can tell my supplier(hence i said the word think) so he can get them in the next couple of months not i have two weeks to throw as much as fish in the tank...Im really thinking about the dension but if i roder them the supplier will make order 30 since they are expensive for him to get..That would set me back 300-400 dollars and if it goes wrong could be a very costly mistake..Orante bichir in for now alone swimming all over the place haha

I have a small school of striped silver dollars (metynnis fasciatus) in with mine and couldn't be happier. Their shoaling characteristics are very entertaining. They're fast and not really a snack for the Aro either.
