My tropical gar shipped out at 830pm today, and are scheduled to arrive before 12am! They only cost me $80 a piece! Expect some updates at noon tomorrow. Can barely contain my excitement!!!

They're supposed to be between 7-9". Think they will be safe with a 14" and 11.5" pair of floridas? I have a 37 high grow out set up just in case. That would be temporary until I get the 300g project wrapped up and cycled and move my Floridas/poly collection over from the 180. I have a 65g tank as well, but it isn't set up because room is limited with the 8 tanks running at the moment (12 if you count my axolotl baby HOB tanks :P )

Cant wait to see these puppies. Good luck, keep us updated!

Sure will. Its going to be really interesting to watch them grow alongside my Florida's. They look similar in some ways, but the adults I have seen look nothing like them. The wide snout is killer.

Should be interesting to see what they make of each other; if they will group together or occupy opposite sides of the tank. Im really hoping I get a M/F pair.

If they look good you ought to grab one. Then again, I've heard they don't play well with arowana.

Another member got 5, I'll let him chime in on his own. His batch is stuck in tenesee because of ice unfortunately. Wishing you the best wherever you are, friend.

Before i get any more monsters i need an upgrade! I have my polys, gar, arowana and peacock bass that will all need a bigger tank. Idk how big to do or what kind of tank yet. I may go plywood so i can make it the dimensions i want. Not sure yet

10x4 IMO. Whatever you create will look slightly too small after a month lol. Me and Kimmie have begun conceptually planning our dream tank. The plan is to use a big spare room in our next house to create an indoor terrarium with a massive pond in the center and blue tegus outside the pond. We can't start working on it for 2 years, but the conceptualizing has been fun. We already have two greenhouses worth of plants lol.

I wish haha. a couple of weeks after i got my 150 i was like alright this is a decent size but not big enough. I better get my own house before any more tanks lol. Im up to 8 tanks. I cant help myself if i find a deal on craigslist. I got rachels 75 for $40 so i couldnt pass on that. I was thinking a 8x4 foot print at maybe 30" tall. That way ill get the most out of the plywood, acrylic or glass.

Unfortunately the shipment of my trops has been delayed as result of the weather in Tennessee. The good news is that they did not get loaded onto their plane, so the vendor was able to pick them up and return them to the warehouse until things boil over. That was a close call.
