smelly fish tank

I had my fish room smelling awful for the past week and I was going crazy trying to find a dead fish only to realize the dead fish was outside of the tank. Rotting behind a few boxes. Unless you're 100% positive no fish are missing, I would give the surrounding parts of the tank a look
 
I think it's the massivore pellets. My cichlids crush them up into tiny particles that go everywhere. My lfs gave me some waste away to try and it seems to have curbed the smell

its the pellets, I'd bet any money on it. I get the problem with carnivore pellets, if I overfeed my water reeks. Its more than likely residual waste from the massivore.

Haha I had this issue 2 weeks ago when I first setup my tank, could not find the source at all! I knew it was from the tank because my room is spotless and zero food in my room.
Did a 50 percent water change 2 days in a row and haven't smelled anything since.
 
I had a cichlid, green terror actually, who died inside an ornament and started rotting. It was the grossest thing ever. I had to break the ornament into little pieces to get it out. I have no idea how it got in there.
