Tbh idk, DB u really think the one u got aren't really lacerdae? Post some updated pics you're one of the reasons I've been holding off since you've noticed difference

So........ I'm guessing by this post that Ken has no clue how to tell the difference between these fish himself? Since it's completely backwards from post #24 in the show me your wolves sticky.......

First 2 fish he sent me look just like the fish on the left. So maybe he really does think they're Lacs?

One things sure, I don't think they're Lacs. I also don't understand how anyone can say that this guy is great to deal with. I haven't been this pissed off about a fish deal since Shawn screwed me out of Thai rays. I've been stuck in an ongoing shiat show for 2 months now and it sounds like the "replacement" order got screwed up too. What a "professional".

I'm not one to make a judgement or speculation on whether or not he knows how to ID them, I've never even kept a hoplias before....

Is this pic the "lac" he sent you?:ImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1427323694.172559.jpg

I've dealt with him a few times with crenicichla (pike cichlids) and I'd rate him as an A+ in terms of knowledge etc. the pic he has posted on his fb page of his current lacs do look kind of not like mala and are 4-5 inches I'd ask him for one of those. I know u don't have a fb but that's what I use to contact him... Lmk how it goes

That one looks like a lac judging off of the body and head shape.

I don't know ken and I'm not trying to bash the guy. Wolves are hard to ID for sure.

Came across this thread and not sure how it was resolved or the ID was re-confirmed. Wolves back then I'm sure we're harder to ID than now. But sounds like the same story.

Link doesn't work. I assume it's water wolves.

Will try to post it later when I get on pc but shows somebody purchasing a lac and suggested to be a mala. Once again not sure of the outcome but it's odd.

Can't do it but search for WW forum and hoplias lac next to it and it'll be found.

so here is two pictures of the same fish, I believe that the different degrees of them opening their mouth affects the way their tapering of the lower jaw. notice one picture its more "v" and other is more "U".,

these fish are about 2" big, and overall very green, the eye, and the body is green. and were confirmed as Lacerdae by one of the only exporters fish collectors in Argentina.

Definitely challenging for you as a vendor when you gotta go with someone's word and hope they are on point or not off that day.
