got a rainbow wolf fish.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Good news I did see him eat today, he ate my floating cichlid pellets lol,

Cichlid gold large size he may have eaten 2.

All the fish are eating less except for the pleco.

All the fish have no bite marks or torn fins.

I was expecting him to at least bite one of them by now.

The only fish acting the same is the OB peacock still chases the frontosa around.

It's only been a few days so maybe soon he will start acting aggressive. Any recommendation on live food? Just feeders? I can put them in a spare tank with my crayfish as a quarantine. How many days to make sure they're healthy feeders?

Take out the crayfish because you have to treat your live feeders with medicine for at least 7 days (2 weeks or more is always better), ich and external fungus are 2 commons disease from feeders, its a lot of extra works if you aim to use live feeders. If you have good relationship with your LFS then you can ask them when new feeder shipment coming and buy it right away. you would need to setup 2 tanks: 1 for new arrival to QT and 1 tank to move those QT'ed ready to use. Also, calculate how many feeders you gonna use for a month and plan the next batch feeders for QT so you always have some ready to use.

Does that go for all live food?

I really like how the crayfish is eating all the **** from the pleco, I haven't seen the sand so clean since new lol.

So today I noticed the red wolf chase the jack back to the other side of the tank. Seems like now the jack has the left side of the tank and the wolf has the right. Now what's interesting is the ob peacock and frontosa are more calm and are on the wolf's side of the tank.

The jack barely goes over to the right side any more, I haven't seen him approach the wolf at all today, so I'm guess I g the wolf scared him off and he no longer bothers him at the moment.

Cautions must taken/deal with high priority and should not ignore with any live feeders you buying from any LFS unless you breed your own live stock and obviously it will take a lot more works :D

I'm curious if your rainbow wolf has jumped and hit your lid? My malabaricus died the other night because he got through a 2" hole in my hood and landed on my carpet :irked: :irked: :irked: would like to try out a rainbow/red wolf

Sorry for your loss but beware red/purple wolf tend to jump more than other wolf species, also wolf mostly jump when its stressed out or got spooked, if you have a right setup then most of the time it will station at its favorite spot until feeding time.

Sorry about your lose, he seems to check the lid to see if there are holes, but I covered everything up ans have weight on the lids just in case.

I've only had him for like 3 days or so, I don't think he is fully settled, but he swims around a bit. Sometimes he is stationary for awhile and sometimes he swims a little.

What about earth warms? Were do I get them to feed to my fish?

Go to Walmart and can get some worms from there at the fishing/sports dept. Or go dig for them.
