Thoughts on Fancy Goldfish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Redearsunfish is to goldfish what divemaster is to NA natives. It's about time you two stubborn bullheaded members crossed paths and got a taste of your own medicine. I been waiting a long time for this lol

I have my tastes, but let's not turn this into another 23 page arguement between two or three members. I respect Redear's opinion along with anyone else who likes fancy goldfish, I'm just not a fan of them myself.

here here. :) or is it hear hear? In any case, he's right.

I've seen hundreds of them at many different stores and they all look "disabled" to me. I just think that we need to stop trying to genetically alter animals in a negative way. Breeding for albinism or melanism or the like is one thing but dying and changing to body shape of the fish are another.
I get news for you. Color mutations are not always a good thing. EBJDs have seriously reduced lifespan and they have lot of health issues. Melanism in some fish species can lead to cancer and albinoism in some fish species leads to sterility, blindness and poor immunity. But some folks like how colorful these fishes are. I liked EBJDs

BTW in future, never dragging disabled people in this subject, its a low move....

Or you can just drop it and keep your opinions to yourself. Making a thread about bashing a fish, you will expecting heated debates and possibly lost some respect for you. You sure hit lot of some nerves in other people.

This thread is already well on its way to that status. There's nothing new that will be added. Just a Buncha people stating their personal opinions and tastes as facts of life. A handful of people will repeat it louder then others and you guys will arrive at a stalemate. Welcome to another thread that reads as a personal hate blog instead of an educational piece

Next up, my I hate oscars thread. I wonder how that thread will go

Your original question and taste is like asking if it's wrong to keep domesticated dogs while you keep a wild caught wolf in a cage. I'm not of the opinion that keeping fish is wrong but if keeping a weak fish is wrong it's more wrong to keep a fish with a high potential and stifle it.

Lol gotta look at that one. Where is it ?

Rebel kind of makes sense though albino oscars are very popular kind of along the same lines at the gold fish. To each is own. You spend your money on things "you" like and have a right to an opinion
