they only go hand in hand due to ignorance. but that is different, i'm not talking about regular, NORMAL, goldfish. i'm talking about these horribly obese ones purposely bred to be that way.

it's like humans purposely wanting to breed 70 pound toddlers

They are overfed goldfish. Too much fat in them from improper diet. Seen it in all fish species, including common goldfish. You should see the common carps in UK and Germany, they are so fat from overfeeding by people.

but saying that fat and goldfish go hand in hand is a little disturbing coming from fishkeeping experts

they do not go hand in hand. only ignorant keepers make them two things go hand in hand. they should not be fed to the point of unhealthy proportions. doing so for your entertainment is a little messed up tbh

Dude, I am dumb as a post in the ground, my information on Goldfish keeping is seat of my pants first hand experience stuff.

And i'll tell you, after 30 plus years, goldfish that sit on the bottom or float are sick, overfed or improperly kept. I will agree that these types of fish are more prone to this - but im willing to work with that. You aren't - so we will agree to disagree. And i hope you keep talking to me.
