here is my platinum that is going with it once it catches up in size.......before Bro Fong says it I am sure its just a low quality high shine...haha.......if I only had a super bright light to shine on him he would be even shinier......ha!

Was kidding about snow Kelvin.......like I said he is matte white finish with red trim....looks awesome unlike what you said he would look like....now the challenge to you Kelvin is to find a matte finish snow white adult with red trim.....like this common aro will be....

The ones of the "Axanthic" one are with a flash from SLR bro Fong.......the only picture that doesn't have a flash is the Platinum......that is because it gets to shiny like your pics and you cant see the fish properly

If taken with flash and this is the color.. Than under normal sun light your fish scale should be translucent and light yellowish right? Take a video.. Or another pic without light.

Maybe it got drop eye so young due to the red nan light you are using to make the fins look red/pink

What happened to the panda eye that gone then

I'm sorry but no matter how nice and unique it was it would be out of my tank so fast it's not funning with drop eye like that

I was also under the impression that wild caught silvers didn't get drop eye as often as captive bred aro
So that would mean this is captive bred or wild caught silvers do get drop eye as often a captive bred

Both can't both be right can they

It's not a case of proving this person or that person right or wrong
If the owner is happy that should be the end of it shouldn't it

Wild silvers can develop drop eye! Almost all the silver aros sold in the 80's were WC and many developed drop eye. Drop eye can be corrected via simple surgery. I personally believe two of the biggest factors why silver aros develop drop eye is a combination of diet and crystal clear water. We feed our aros a much fattier diet compared to what they are accustomed to in the wild... also most of the Amazon is not crystal clear. I am sure there are other factors as well.
Before making such a statement 'I was also under the impression that wild caught silvers didn't get drop eye as often as captive bred aro
So that would mean this is captive bred or wild caught silvers do get drop eye as often a captive bred' you should do a little more research.

As expected it turns out light yellow and translucent scale. Quite unlike the axanthic I have seen though. Strangely I am beginning to like this piece. If it doesn't turn more yellow this piece is a keeper.

As far as the captive breed vs Wild Caught...........I was with Wes when he picked them up at the airport from the airline coming from Peru.........so you can drop that.....I actually would prefer that it was captive breed as I think they are healthier fish.....as far as the light thing goes.......I could argue it better if I knew what a "red nan light" was.......all I know is that I have a white led beamsworks on my tank.........and if there was a special red light shining on him wouldnt his scales and the opaque tub he is in have a red tinge to it from the light? And you cannot see it from the photo but the lid to his bin is black so no light shines in on him from the top....and both eyes still have dark circle around pupil not as dark as before but yes very different from regular aro....sorry
