I added three silver dollars tonight, each around a 4" disc. I fed the tank really well before adding them and observed for an hour or so before stepping away. I left the house to take care of a few things and was gone for a few hours. When I got home, one of the silver dollars was missing and the congi had a huge bulge in his stomach. Also appears to have regained some of the color he lost in the recent tank transfer. I didn't think he would go for them because of their shape. Well. Wrong. CAM05701.jpg
 
The other two are in my guppy breeder tank now. They got a bit beat up too. Lots of gouges from the gars teeth, and one has a missing anal fin. I dosed with salt and melafix. :/ this could have been a lot worse. I think i can save these two no problem. Not to mention, one of the gars could have easily rocketed after one and broken its snout on the glass. Lesson learned. My fish don't play.
 
Wouldn't expect ur Congi to go after that $ like that. Close call!
 
Yeah, doe. 2 tropical gar and 2 floridas.

The last of the silver dollars is alive! I got home from school just now and it was in one of my gar's mouths. I thought it was dead, but I scooped it up and its hanging in there. Going to get medication as soon as my gf gets home. These poor fish :((((

I think I'll give them to my sister for her 60g peaceful community tank. They're going to have some savage PTSD after all that.

100% tropicals~ they have more personality, more teeth, a wider snout, and imo a better color scheme.
